Everyone thought they were crazy but they were very serious with their ideas

surrealism was about philosophy, politics, art and revolution. a movement beyond reality. Paris early 1900's people on their best behaviour before the war.the war made people question their life, they did everything they could to rebel. inspired others to reject with them. Breton had a dream of a man cut in half by a window, this changed his mindset-he found the unconsious. this creates irational thoughts. to create peace Breton decided to release the irational unconcious thoughts.
